Ladakh, Sep 05 : The annual Ladakh festival, a fifteen day cultural extravaganza promoting tourism in the scenic region, kicked off in Jammu and Kashmir recently. The cultural fiesta began with a procession of hundreds of resplendently attired artists from various regions of Ladakh walking through the streets of Leh town. Ladakhi people, bedecked with gold and silver ornaments and turquoise headgears, along with polo horses, yaks and double humped camels, thronged the streets.

FM Triggers Debate on Financial Reforms

Chidambaram inaugurated a national seminar on Indian Financial Code to bring about a debate on the financial sector legislative reforms commission (FSLRC) report.

Sanjay Dutt shifted to Yerwada Jail in Pune

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who had last week surrendered in a Mumbai Jail was today secretly shifted to the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune. The actor was taken from the high-security Arthur Road Central Jail in south Mumbai in a van around midnight and transferred to the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune early Wednesday, due to security reasons and to avoid media glare.
