Women Manage Auto Stand in Kochi

Kochi, Sep 27 : 2007 In the latest instance of empowerment, women in Kochi city are managing and running an exclusive all-women auto stand. In a small village called Thrikkakkra, nearly a dozen women have taken on the task of running auto rickshaws and providing transportation to locals. The council is working in conjunction with a self-help group for women called the Kudubashree. Their aim is to create more opportunities and uplift the status of women in the society, particularly in their own village.

Sanjay Dutt to Get Access Home Food, Medicine

Sanjay Dutt went back to Arthur Road jail to serve three-and-a-half years sentence after being convicted in 1993 Bombay blasts case. Meanwhile, TADA court allowed him access to medicines, home-food, fan and to take along his mattress and pillow for his stay in the jail.
