Changigarh, Oct 05 2007 : Indian and Pakistani students participating in a peace camp in Chandigarh city said that the boundaries dividing them are only political. Eights students from Pakistan are on a visit to India to participate in the second five-day Indo-Pak Students Peace Campaign, an endeavour started last year by a Chandigarh-based voluntary organisation. The aim of this camp is to familiarise these students with each other's culture and also lessen the distance created by political borders.

Li, who arrived in India on his maiden foreign trip after taking over as the Chinese premier, said he would strive to increase trust and build bridges for the future between the two neighbours whose relations have been fraught with mutual suspicion following a brief border war in 1962. Bilateral trade between the two countries hit $73 billion in 2011, making China India's largest trade partner, but slipped to $66 billion last year. Still, the two countries remain committed to achieving a $100 billion bilateral trade by 2015.

India and China will hold formal talks on the issues of border, trade and peace respectively on Monday. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang currently on a visit to India met Manmohan Singh in New Delhi earlier on Sunday.

Attack on newspaper office in Tripura kills 3

Three employees of a Bengali daily newspaper including a manager were killed by two unidentified assailants at their office in Agartala. The incident happened when two assailants stormed into the office of Dainik Ganadoot, and stabbed to death the 32 year old proof reader, Sujit Bhattacharjee, and seriously injured manager Ranjit Chowdhury, and driver Balaram Ghosh, both of whom died on way to hospital.
