New Delhi, November 3, 2007 : At a special function to felicitate him in New Delhi today, Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama slammed the Chinese government of wanting peace but using guns. The function was organised by the Gandhi Peace Foundation and the All India Parliamentary Forum for Tibet. It was organised to congratulate His Holiness on being awarded the US Congressional Gold Medal by American President George W. Bush at a ceremony on October 17.

IPL betting scandal: Gurunath Meiyappan arrested, Srinivasan says wont resign

Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI President N Srinivasan has been arrested for his alleged involvement in IPL betting scandal. Meiyappan will be produced before a metropolitan court on Saturday. He was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch after nearly two-and-a-half hours of questioning that began at 9.30 pm.

Congress top leaders to discuss on food security bill

There is a meeting of Congress core group today, in which they will decide whether to call for a special session of Parliament or to pass an ordinance on the Food Security Bill. Earlier, a meeting based on the same issue was held on 17th May which did not have inconclusive.
