DEVOTEES OBSERVE 'KALPAWAS'

Ayodhya, Nov. 21 : Thousands of devotees are thronging the Holy city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to worship on the banks of the river Saryu and observe 'Kalpawas', or a month long fast during the auspicious month of Kartik. People believe that observing 'Kalpawas' helps them fulfill their wishes. During this month long fast, people can only consume fruits. Over one hundred thousand devotees have so far reached Ayodhya for the festival.
