Ahmedabad, Dec 25, 2007 : After pulling off a stunning win in India's western Gujarat, Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Narendra Modi was sworn in as chief Minister for the third term on December 25th. Modi was sworn in by Governor Naval Kishore Sharma at the Sard`ar Patel stadium in Ahmedabad where thousands of his supporters had gathered to watch the man of the moment to take oath. Soon after taking oath, leaders from the BJP and its allies took turns to greet Modi.
Sanjay Dutt to Get Access Home Food, Medicine
Sanjay Dutt went back to Arthur Road jail to serve three-and-a-half years sentence after being convicted in 1993 Bombay blasts case. Meanwhile, TADA court allowed him access to medicines, home-food, fan and to take along his mattress and pillow for his stay in the jail.
Teacher suspended for molesting girl student
A government school teacher was suspended by the state government for attending the school in an intoxicated condition and allegedly molesting the girl students. Investigations in the case have been initiated.
