Maharashtra Information Commissioner Ramanand Tiwari, whose kin own a flat in the controversial Adarsh Housing Society in Mumbai, on Wednesday (January 5) submited a leave application. According to sources, the Governor is yet to take a decision on it: Raj Bhavan sources. Meanwhile, Tiwari has refused to step down from his post.

IPL betting scandal: Gurunath Meiyappan arrested, Srinivasan says wont resign

Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI President N Srinivasan has been arrested for his alleged involvement in IPL betting scandal. Meiyappan will be produced before a metropolitan court on Saturday. He was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch after nearly two-and-a-half hours of questioning that began at 9.30 pm.

Congress top leaders to discuss on food security bill

There is a meeting of Congress core group today, in which they will decide whether to call for a special session of Parliament or to pass an ordinance on the Food Security Bill. Earlier, a meeting based on the same issue was held on 17th May which did not have inconclusive.
