World leaders hail killing of bin Laden

The killing of Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in a covert US operation is a "victory for justice" that will bring "great relief" to the world, America's allies said Monday. Announcing the death of the planet's most wanted man, President Barack Obama said "justice has been done", while his predecessor George W. Bush hailed it as a "momentous" achievement.

IPL betting scandal: Gurunath Meiyappan arrested, Srinivasan says wont resign

Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI President N Srinivasan has been arrested for his alleged involvement in IPL betting scandal. Meiyappan will be produced before a metropolitan court on Saturday. He was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch after nearly two-and-a-half hours of questioning that began at 9.30 pm.

Congress top leaders to discuss on food security bill

There is a meeting of Congress core group today, in which they will decide whether to call for a special session of Parliament or to pass an ordinance on the Food Security Bill. Earlier, a meeting based on the same issue was held on 17th May which did not have inconclusive.
