Terror struck Mumbai when three serial blasts rocked crowded areas in Zaveri Bazar, Dadar and the Opera House on Wednesday evening (July 13) leaving at least 50 people injured in a grim reminder of 26/11 when 166 people were killed. In New Delhi, the Union Home Ministry said the multiple explosions were a terror strike and that Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) was used.

FM tables white paper on black money

New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today tabled a White Paper on black money in the Lok Sabha, providing information on the wealth that is stashed abroad. The white paper also focused on bullion, gold jewellery and the real estate sector and recommended more transparency in land dealings and regularisation of property registration. The opposition, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has been accusing the government of going slow on the black money probe.

Not a contender for CM post: Yeddyurappa

Bangalore, May 19 (ANI): Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa today said that he is not aspiring for the post of Chief Minister or party president. Yeddyurappa also brushed aside the rumours of him joining the Congress party. Yeddyurappa told media persons in Bangalore that he is hurt because of the infighting that is taking place and will not participate in the national executive meeting of the BJP. He also held party general secretary Ananth Kumar responsible for the ongoing rift within the party.
