Mumbai, February 7 (ANI): Ace Indian tennis star Leander Paes, who recently won the 2012 Australian Open doubles title, now eyes a gold medal at the London Olympics and clinching upcoming Grand Slam titles. Interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of an event in Mumbai, Paes said he would be training hard for the tournament ahead. Paes completed a career Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open doubles title with his Czech partner Radek Stepanek at Melbourne Park recently.

Despite a poor season Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff is named in France coach Laurent Blanc's provisional Euro 2012 squad. Uncapped defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is also included while Younes Kaboul misses out due to injury.

Deepika Kumari returns home after winning gold

India's Olympic prospect Deepika Kumari won her first World Cup individual recurve gold medal on Saturday at Antalya. The gold medalist returned home today. Deepika, who has already qualified for London Olympics, is the current junior world champion and a gold medallist at the Delhi Commonwealth Games. She had also won the Cadet World Title in 2009. She is hopeful of continuing the good work further.

Germany not the favourites in Euro, says coach Loew

Germany coach Joachim Loew on Monday said his team faced a tough challenge and were not the favourites in the Euro 2012 competition. He also named uncapped teenage midfielder Julian Draxler and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen in his provisional squad.
