Samantha says that she quit Kadal because of call sheet problems. But one of the crew member said, Manirathnam and cinematographer Rajeev Menon saw the rushes of Kadal. They found out that Samantha did not suit Gowtham. Gowtham is aged 19. Samantha was looking very elderly to him and hence she was ousted out of the film.
