Police nab six Maoists; seize ammunition in Andhra

Visakhapatnam, July 3 (ANI): Acting on a tip off, police have arrested six Maoists and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions in Andhra Pradesh. Interacting with reporters, Deputy Inspector General of Visakhapatnam Range, Swati Lakra said that they have recovered items including bullet proof jackets and cash. Throwing light on the condition of tribals in the area, Lakra also stated that Maoists often attempt to halt developmental projects funded by the state government. In the last few years, the rebels have stepped up their efforts against the government as well as the locals, after various locals complained that Maoist activities such as killings and abductions increased considerably in the area.

Pak needs to do more to fight terrorism: Krishna

Onboard, July 04 (ANI): Union Foreign Affairs Minister SM Krishna has talked tough on Pakistans efforts against combating terrorism and said that the country needs to put in more to fight the problem. Speaking on the eve of talks, between Pakistan Foreign Secretary, Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Indian counterpart Ranjan Mathai, that is scheduled to take place in New Delhi, Krishna said that dialogue between the two countries is a positive sign and that there is no longer the bitterness of old times. Jilani has vowed to cooperate with India in Abu Jundals case, a suspected key conspirator in 26/11 militant attacks in Mumbai.

Hostel in Delhi for students of Maoist hit areas

New Delhi, July 04 (ANI): With a view to give needy tribal students access to quality coaching facilities for national level competitive exams, BJP chief, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated a hostel in New Delhi for tribal youth, along with the Chhattisgarh chief Minister Raman Singh. The youth hostel will provide accommodation to needy students from the Maoist infested areas, as well as give them access to educational facilities. Speaking at the event, Singh said that Delhi had better facilities for such education, which could help the talented youth of his state realize their dreams. BJP chief Gadkari said that the hostel was a model worthy of emulation, and would help people belonging to the regions where Maoist insurgency had impacted social education.

Abhi, Devgn wrestle it out for Bol Bachchan

New Delhi, July 5 (ANI): In a unique attempt to promote their upcoming comedy flick Bol Bachchan , Tinsel Town actors Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan, were seen battling out in a friendly wrestling match in New Delhi. In a candid chat with media persons Abhishek Bachchan said that his co actor Ajay is playing a role of a wrestler in the movie and after knowing about wrestling they want to promote it and support it. The movie is directed by Rohit Shetty who is known for his action packed Bollywood masala films as well as his comedy flicks like Golmaal, Golmaal Returns and All the Best, which were laugh rides for the audiences.
