Bhatinda, November 06 (ANI): One of the four Indian convicts released by a designated court in Dubai expressed his relief on coming home. Sukhdev Singh, one of the convicts, who joined his family in Bhatinda, was released on the payment of more than Rs Forty million as blood money that was arranged by Indian businessman S P Singh Oberoi, based at Dubai. Earlier, in its judgment the court had pronounced the death sentence on them after they were found guilty of murdering a Pakistan national in 2009.

IPL betting scandal: Gurunath Meiyappan arrested, Srinivasan says wont resign

Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI President N Srinivasan has been arrested for his alleged involvement in IPL betting scandal. Meiyappan will be produced before a metropolitan court on Saturday. He was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch after nearly two-and-a-half hours of questioning that began at 9.30 pm.

Congress top leaders to discuss on food security bill

There is a meeting of Congress core group today, in which they will decide whether to call for a special session of Parliament or to pass an ordinance on the Food Security Bill. Earlier, a meeting based on the same issue was held on 17th May which did not have inconclusive.
