Maoist nabbed in Orissa

Malkangiri, October 23 (ANI): Orissa police on Saturday arrested a Maoist and seized weapon, during an operation in the states forested area. The rebel, identified as Deba Kartami, was nabbed in Malkangiri district. Kartami has been an active member of a Maoist outfit in the district. Police also seized some documents with his arrest.

Rescue operations underway in Joshimath

Rescue and relief operations are underway in Joshimath in Uttarakhand, which has been hit by severe floods. Some 18 helicopters have rescued 5,000 people in the worst-hit Uttarakhand. Tens of thousands of pilgrims are stranded in Uttarakhand, where more than 100 people have been killed.
