Noida /Gurgaon, August 11 (ANI): As the date for social activist Anna Hazares proposed fast, beginning August 16 draws closer, nationwide rallies and demonstrations have gathered momentum for anti graft crusade. Supporters of Jan Lokpal Bill held a torch light rally in Noida on Wednesday. Apart from the torch rally, street plays were also organised at key market places of sector 18 in Noida to spread the message of supporting Hazares crusade.

IPL betting scandal: Gurunath Meiyappan arrested, Srinivasan says wont resign

Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI President N Srinivasan has been arrested for his alleged involvement in IPL betting scandal. Meiyappan will be produced before a metropolitan court on Saturday. He was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch after nearly two-and-a-half hours of questioning that began at 9.30 pm.

Congress top leaders to discuss on food security bill

There is a meeting of Congress core group today, in which they will decide whether to call for a special session of Parliament or to pass an ordinance on the Food Security Bill. Earlier, a meeting based on the same issue was held on 17th May which did not have inconclusive.
