Hindu pilgrims went on a rampage in capital today, after two more pilgrims were hit and killed by a truck. Irate pilgrims vandalized a fuel station and shattered the windshields and windows of a truck, disrupting traffic on a busy highway that connects New Delhi to Jaipur. Mohinder Lal, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon, however, said the situation was under control.

Bad weather hits rescue operations in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Amrita Rawat on Thursday said that inclement weather would hamper rescue operation in state devastated by the raging floods due to early monsoon. Meanwhile, former chief minister of Uttarakhand Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, lashed the ruling state government for not taking any lessons from the calamity which had hit the region last year.

Military helicopters carry out emergency food drops for thousands of people stranded by flash flooding from early monsoon rains which have killed at least 120 in northern India. Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is among those stranded by the flooding.
